Kimberlyn Clears The Air
I tuned in for the last half of Kimberlyn's "International Show" on WGCR Web Radio. I caught her talking in between songs; she'd talk for about 11 minutes from that point. She was joined by someone named "Mr. Mike". She sent out condolences to Nyanza for recent deaths in her family and played sound effects of crowds cheering or going "awwwwww". She and Mike went on and on about how misinformation gets spread around and how people shouldn't believe everything they hear. They compared Kimberlyn's situation to the various stories swirling around Michael Jackson.
At the time I tuned in she was going on about how she said she'd make a statement about what "really happened" and that she knows people were waiting. She said somebody had thought it had been "months" but she insists it's only been weeks since she said she'd clear things up. She kept repeating that "we" would clear things up and things take time. She kept referring to "we" instead of just herself and even corrected herself at one point when she said "I".
Kimberlyn commented that a lot of people express anger and upset on the messageboards over SO and if they're that angry and upset over a television show maybe they should question what's really making them so upset.
She talked about how rumors get started and people believe them. She said something about how "people talk out of the side of their necks." (I think the expression is "side of their mouths.") But Mr. Mike added that their "necks get broken."
She said that the messageboards "have turned into the dog you can't kick at home." I'm really not sure what she meant by that but Mr. Mike said something about how it's you who train the dog to be mean. At one point Mr. Mike made a big deal out of how he wanted to say something and they both got quiet. He then launched into something about how when someone who doesn't know the truth is confronted by someone who is all truth, so much truth in their face that they want to "kill that person. It's the person who doesn't know too much that wants to take that person out of the game."
Mike and Kimberlyn ended the show by urging people to drop their baggage. She announced her email address (just once this time): kimberlyngcr@hotmail.com Either my clocks are wrong or they ended the show a few minutes early. They were followed by an extremely political show complete with wild animal sound effects and talk about how the "lion is waking up".
The sound effects were a bit annoying and included a very high-pitched cartoon-sounding voice that was hard to understand. "Zap Pest Control" was an advertiser.
I listened to the show from the Nullsoft Shoutcast website which listed 5 connected listeners out of a maximum capacity of 500. Shoutcast's most popular stations have a max of 30,000 listeners and up with a broadcast bitrate between 96 and 128. WGCR broadcasts at a bitrate of 24.
